Background

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and attended college at UNL. Studied Economics and Geography, rowed crew and worked in construction and restaurants to pay for it all.
Moved to Sun Valley, Idaho with my brother after graduating and continued working in construction and restaurants, with a lot of skiing, biking, camping, hiking and fishing thrown in.
Relocated to Santa Barbara to open a restaurant and spend time at the beach. Ended up meeting my future wife there as well, in Paradise - the Paradise Cafe. We soon moved to Marin County, to open a restaurant.
We eventually started our family on 27th and Clement in the city, sending our kids to public schools. I coached soccer and basketball. I started in Real Estate after opening several more restaurants. Went back and forth for several years to Sun Valley helping my brother start a landscaping business and develop several commercial properties.
Moved out to Bel Marin Keys, with my oldest boy starting high school at Novato High. Love living in Novato, and love it here on the water! Just selling Real Estate and raising a family now, with some biking, hiking, kayaking, sailing, swimming and refereeing soccer games along the way!

Testimonials

 Dear Mark,

Thank you for speaking at our monthly MCARE luncheon/meeting at San Rafael Joe's on May 11.
Your presentation was clear and probably caused many in the audience to rethink their living situations before being forced into a change.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Nancy Brooks, Secretary

"Mark Dawson has been the key member of the "team" for anyone looking to purchase or sell property in the San Francisco/North Bay Area. His 20+ years of experience, flexibility, and honesty in working with clients of all levels is a true art that is hard to find. While others pose as 'realtors', he has made a career as a Realtor. As a prior client myself, he has a unique way to juggle many different activities at once and STILL make the client feel as if they are his main and only focus. It has been a pleasure working as a part of his team to assist in the financing to help his clients succeed in their real estate goals."

"Mark Dawson has been our exclusive real estate agent since 2000. He has helped us purchase and sell several San Francisco properties, including our first purchase in Haight/Ashbury. We would never attempt a transaction without his expertise and guidance. He knows the San Francisco market, and its sub-markets, very well. He has represented us as buyer and seller and has always remained enthusiastic and upbeat through the ups and downs. Mark sticks with it even in slow markets and I truly don't believe anyone else would give as much of their time to open houses and showings. I wouldn't even think of using anyone else in the bay area."

"We bumped into Mark Dawson at an open house in SF, and it turned out to be quite the serendipitous encounter. We worked with him over the next couple of months, during which time he guided us through the jungle that is San Francisco real estate, advised us on putting in competitive offers, and ultimately helped us land the perfect bungalow. He's super knowledgeable about the local market but what was even more impressive to us was his negotiation ability. We ended up in a multiple offer situation (3 bidders, in this market?? yup) but came out on top because of Mark's negotiation skills and people savviness. He knows how to play the game right, that's for sure. Would definitely work with Mark again....hopefully far in the future though because I'm not moving again for a loooong time! :)"

"I worked with Mark Dawson on the purchase of my first home.
From the moment I met him, I was really impressed.
Compared to other agents I had encountered, I found him to be flexible, thorough, diligent and very knowledgeable. He's worked in real estate in San Francisco for a number of years and his experience really shows. He knows his way around and I really appreciated his patience in stepping through every detail of each phase of the process with me. Although he was handling a number of clients, he was always available when I needed him - and was easy to contact through text message, phone, email or face to face meetings.
Another trait I appreciated was Mark's honesty, he was not over eager to complete the property deal and pointed out the drawbacks in the purchase.
I would definitely work with Mark again."

I've had Mark Dawson serve as my agent on two very different properties in San Francisco. One was an old, somewhat land-locked empty lot in the Inner Sunset that had been in our family for years and we little hope of divesting ourselves of it. Well, Mark made it happen expeditiously and for an excellent price. The other was a high-end three-plex in the Buena Vista Park district that came upon the market about the time the bottom fell out.
Another agent with a high-end prestigious firm had attempted for six months to move the property, but to no avail. Mark came in after the first wave had long moved on and managed to put together a good deal in a tough market and in short order. Quite the relief and the whole process was both pleasant and worry free. No post-sale problems occurred with either property.
That's my two cents on why a prospective seller or buyer in the real estate market should seriously consider utilizing Mark Dawson as his or her agent.

I have employed Mark Dawson as my real estate agent for many transactions over the past twenty years.
In one transaction a few years back Mark Dawson sold one of my properties for over $1,000,000.  The interesting part of the transaction was that it was a record price for any property sold on that 300 block of Shotwell street in San Francisco, I believe that record still stands.
I have been so satisfied with his services that I have referred several family members to Mark and all have been very happy with his services and the outcome

Mark Dawson has a wealth of actual hands -on experience and has dealt with most real estate scenarios as a salesman and developer.
Mark is honest and trustworthy.  He has a straight forward engaging manner and a very pleasant personality honed in his his Omaha, Nebraska upbringing.
I can be contacted at 415-621-5150 if further information is desired.
